Stay This Age Forever

So this morning I found myself getting emotional over the fact that Logan will be turning 2 in August....I'm partially blaming this on being pregnant. I found myself wishing Logan would just stay this age forever so I could:
  • Always feel like I'm winning the lottery when he sleeps in until 7:00 am.
  • Hear him say 'mama' excitedly when I pick him up after work and see him run at me with open arms.
  • Listen to him call his blanket 'butt' because he doesn't know how to say it right yet.
  • Read just one more book before bedtime because who can resist a face like that when he asks.
  • Actually enjoy getting up at night if he wakes up because I secretly enjoy rocking him for 10 minutes.
  • Watch him push his toy mower around the yard chasing daddy while he is mowing the lawn.
  • Be in awe of how much he seems to learn every day.
  • Feel him pat my tummy and then lift up my shirt to give the baby kisses.
  • Feel important when he gets a bump and mommy's kiss makes it all better.
  • Feel his arms wrapped tightly around my neck for the best hugs...followed by a nice slobbery kiss.
  • Listen to his laugh when daddy tickles him with his scruffy face. He has a great belly laugh.
  • Watch him sit on the potty, not really go, but just make the sounds 'pssss' and then say 'all done'.
  • Listen to him only sing 'row, row, row' when we are singing row row row your boat.
  • Watch him try to curl his arms and show his muscles while he makes a "manly" grunt.
  • Watch him sit in the back seat of the car intently "reading" his books as we drive along.

So many things that I just love about this stage! But Ryan reminded me that I need to look forward to every stage. And I do! I just think I needed to get all these memories down so when he turns 16 and does things I won't ever understand I can look back and remember all the sweet little things he did now :0)

Daddy's Little Helper

We started the demo for our laundry room/bathroom project in our basement this morning. Logan was more than happy to help out. If only his help was actually constructive at this age :0)

Catching Up

I never posted any Easter pictures and that is because I didn't take a whole lot of pictures. We do have a video of Logan finding his Easter basket....I think I made it way to easy for him as he found it about 5 seconds after he came into the room. Logan stayed with my parents for a couple days before Easter. This was his first time staying overnight away from home. Apparently he was a little angel for Grandpa and Grandma. However, when daddy and mommy showed up he continued his typical toddler antics!
We celebrated Ryan's 28th birthday at the beginning of May. Starting to get close to that 30 mark :-) We got a wonderful surprise on Ryan's birthday, our newest nephew was born. Brent, Becky and Brayden welcomed Noah Randall to the world on May 4th. He weighed 8 lbs and was 20 inches long...I think those stats are right. We were able to make a trip down to Iowa this past weekend to meet him. He is super cute!! I forgot how tiny babies are when they first arrive, also how much they sleep, and how much time it takes to nurse them! It is all so worth it! So most importantly here are some updated pictures.

Concentrating on coloring our Easter eggs

Trying out the finger paint Logan got in his Easter basket

Happy Birthday Daddy!

So fun! And a baby bump picture...those are lacking 2nd time around!

Blowing out the candles

Here's an idea of what kept Logan busy on our Iowa trip...wrestling with the boys :-)

Logan loved baby Noah! He had to give him lots of kisses.

Typical

Snuggling with daddy...he is turning into quite the daddy's boy

Odd fashion statements. Maybe if we pack his boots away it will stop snowing!

Sunday morning...reading the paper

Trying to figure out which toys he should ask for in his Easter basket.

It's a...

Surprise! We had our 20 week ultrasound today and did not find out if we are having a boy or a girl. It was hard to turn my head while they checked out the baby's lower half...Ryan wouldn't let me peek :-) It will be very exciting going into the delivery not knowing. Maybe it will even motivate me through the pain! So I'm coming around to the idea. I really don't have a choice any more.
It was so fun to get to see the baby! Logan couldn't quite figure out what the nurse was doing to mommy. The baby was moving all over the place, not one for holding still I guess :-) I feel the baby moving a lot during the day and even when I get up at night. I'm hoping when the baby joins us in about 4 1/2 months he/she will decide to be laid back and sleep all through the night. At least with this being my second time around I'm pretty realistic that won't be the case, but one can hope right :-)
Right now I'm thinking the baby is going to be a boy. I don't know if I feel that way because I already have a boy, but that is just my thought. This pregnancy feels pretty similar to my first. However, we'll still make sure to buy a lot of pink things just in case my feeling is wrong!
We also don't have a name picked out. Last time we had a boy and girl name right away. This time we just haven't found the right name yet. Thankfully we still have lots of time to work on that. Of course the way time seems to fly by it will be here before we know it!

Baby Animals

Last Saturday we took Logan to the zoo to see the baby animal exhibit at the farm. Logan had so much fun. We also made a few stops to see some of the other animals too. It is was great to be outside and enjoy some of the warmer weather. Logan LOVES to play outside. Now getting him in the house without having a meltdown can be tricky :-) Here are some pictures of our trip to the zoo.

Checking out the grizzly bears.

Hi Leopard :-)

Logan explaining that sheep say baa!
Logan's favorite part...he pet each goat in the pen at least 3 times.
Watching the cows eat their lunch.
Getting as close as he possibly can to the chickens.
Such a nice baby pig.
Back to the wild....checking out the tiger.
Trying to get a nice pic of Daddy and Logan, unfortunately it is hard to get Logan to hold still.

Grandparents & Cookies

We spent the weekend in Willmar at Grandpa and Grandma Moorlags. Logan had so much fun playing with all of daddy's old toys! We also met up with the Bonnema crew for church. Logan sat through an entire hour and half service at church!! It probably helped that he could sit next to his cousin Brayden which helped keep him occupied.

Reading books before bed with Grandma and Grandpa M.

Logan's new Twins sweatshirt we'll be putting to good use this season! So many toys

Tonight Logan helped me bake some cookies. He thought it was a lot of fun to help mommy in the kitchen.

Such a good mixer

Enjoying the fruits of our labor

Can't you just hear him begging for more...mom thought one was more than enough :-)
