After our three and half hour drive back from Iowa, Logan wasn't really in the mood to be a pumpkin so he took a bath and decided to watch all the trick or treaters from the window. He was in bed at 6:45. He was one tired boy! His nap/bed time schedule was a little off this weekend and he is still dealing with an ear infection. We are on our third antibiotic for the season. I think when the receptionist knows you at the doctor clinic you have a problem on your hands :-)

Happy Birthday Brayden
Logan and I took a trip down to Iowa this weekend to celebrate my nephew Brayden's 2nd birthday. We left daddy at home to catch up on work and school...he missed out on all the fun! Now that Logan is walking he had a lot of fun keeping up with all his cousins. It is so fun to have all the kiddos together....fun because they occupied each other :-) Logan was in heaven with a house full of new toys to him. Here are some pics of our Iowa trip.

Proving Me Wrong
We have been trying to get outside everyday and enjoy what's left of this wonderful fall! I'm starting to get a little worried about how I'm going to be keeping my little man in the house on those cold winter days. Needless to say I'm looking into investing in a new pair of snow pants :-)
Logan did something this past week to prove me wrong....he fell asleep in his highchair. I've always said the only place Logan can fall asleep is his crib (not including car rides). Apparently if he is tired enough anywhere works. What a cutie!

Arts and Crafts
Okay so maybe he is not too crafty yet, but you have to start somewhere. Logan had fun coloring this morning. It only took a few minutes for one of the crayons to find his mouth so we quickly moved onto another activity. Logan has really been working on his walking skills. He has been showing a lot more interest in wanting to walk. He walked all the way across his room to me this morning! It's fun to watch him develop new skills. Check out our artist below :-)

14 Months
Logan is 14 months old today! He is doing a lot of fun things these days like blowing kisses and will go ahhh after drinking...so sweet! He is so proud of himself when he accomplishes a new task. He will just have this big smile on his face or even start clapping for himself. He is able to follow some simple commands like "give that to mommy" or "drink some more milk". Of course he will only follow them when he wants to! No one told me that 14 month old children also throw tantrums, I thought that started when they were two :-) Logan will get upset if we ask him to stay out of a cupboard he wants to be in or go into a room that he wasn't interested in.
He tries to repeat words we say. I don't think he has added too many extra words, he is saying: bye, hi, dae (for daddy), uh oh, mama (although not too often, daddy is the preferred right now), what's that (I can't even think of a way to type how it sounds) and he has said no (only a couple times but not a big surprise!). It is so funny to talk to him and listen to what he has to say back to you. It cracks me up when he starts "talking" or babbling so matter of a fact.
No walking yet. The most steps he has taken have been 4-5. And he doesn't have a lot of interest in wanting to walk. If we try to get him up and going he will just drop to his knees. He will walk holding onto just one of your fingers, but he really wants that one finger! He is still a big boy. I was in nursery at church last week and picked up a boy probably 3-4 months older than him and it was like lifting a feather! I weighed him last night and he was 29.4 lbs...my poor back. This is why he needs to learn this whole walking thing :-)
He is teething now so his appetite has gone down quite a bit, his diapers have gotten interesting and he also has an ear infection to go along with it all :-) Fun times! So there is everything you need to know about my 14 month old man! Logan you bring so much joy to our lives, we are so excited to watch you grow and learn everyday!
